1. Acceptance
ShelfDB is an independent book-discovery service operated from the Republic of Ireland. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These Terms are between you and the operator of ShelfDB.
2. The service
ShelfDB lets you filter and rank a catalogue of books by attributes such as genre, language, length, rating, and series. It is a discovery and reference tool. We do not sell books ourselves; purchase links direct you to third-party retailers. The service is provided free of charge and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
3. Catalogue data and accuracy
Book metadata is sourced from the Hardcover catalogue and other public sources, then enriched by our own processing. It is provided "as is", and although we take reasonable care, we make no warranty that titles, ratings, availability, content warnings, or any other detail are complete, current, or error-free. Always verify important details (such as edition, format, or price) with the retailer before purchasing.
4. Affiliate relationship
ShelfDB participates in affiliate programmes, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, Bookshop.org, and ThriftBooks. When you buy through our links we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. 5. External links
The site links to third-party websites, including retailers and Hardcover. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, pricing, or practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion and subject to that site's own terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service: no attempts to disrupt or overload the site, no automated scraping or bulk extraction of the catalogue, no circumventing security measures, and no use of the site for any unlawful purpose.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
ShelfDB is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of ShelfDB will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, or from any reliance on its data. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
